Syntrus Achmea provides pension funds with advice on all subjects discussed by the board: from risk management and governance to investment strategy and administration. The experienced Syntrus Achmea advisors are supported by a specialist knowledge centre. Together they help fund administrators to timely anticipate new legislation or economic highs and lows. This enables administrators to fully concentrate on the decision-making process.
Actuarial advice & ALM
We support fund administrations in the broad field of actuarial advice and ALM. Our duties include providing assistance for recovery plans and analyses of the cost-effective premium, but also support for crisis plans and advice on the overall financial setup of our pension funds. The ALM is supported by, among other things, the Flight Simulator. This enables pension fund administrations to take well-considered decisions about their strategic long-term objectives and risk preferences
Risk management
In addition to regular reports, we also support fund administrations in the field of risk management. As part of our services we offer a risk assessment, which shows whether the administration has a clear picture of all financial and other risks. Our advisors then help take the right control measures and to set up reliable monitors, enabling administrators to maintain a grip on all risks.

The advisors of Syntrus Achmea follow the world of pensions from within. They maintain good contacts with the government and with employers and workers, and are fully up-to-date about new developments. This enables them to come up with ideas about the future of the Dutch pension system, and to advise fund administrators about future changes at an early stage.
Strategic Pension Management (SPM)
Fiduciary Management, Asset Manager Selection and Strategic Pension Advice all form part of our new Strategic Pension Management (SPM) department. It was our deliberate choice to fully separate this department from our Asset Management department. As such, Syntrus Achmea guarantees independent and transparent advice.
