Syntrus Achmea is part of Achmea, one of the largest financial service providers in the Netherlands. Achmea Holding NV is responsible for ensuring that all Achmea companies comply with the Data Protection Act (WBP). Of course, all Achmea companies fully meet the requirements of the Act and our data processing operations are registered with the Data Protection Board .*
In addition, companies within Achmea conform to the Code of Conduct, Processing Personal Information with Financial Institutions. With your data we can further improve our provision of services to you
When applying for an insurance or financial service, we ask you for personal information. We use this data to accept your application, prepare your contract and for prevention. We can also use this information to inform you about products and services. If you do not wish to receive information about our products and services, please let us know. We will then block our access to your personal information.
Your personal details are well secured
We handle your personal information with great care. Therefore, our systems and programs are properly secured to prevent unauthorized persons, both inside and outside our organization, from gaining access to your personal information.
Special personal information
Data, such as medical and criminal, is handled with extra care. This is also subject to special rules: In some cases, for example for life and health insurance, we need your medical data. Our medical advisor is responsible for the proper processing thereof. Medical information will only be provided to other employees if they belong to the functional unit of the medical advisor, and if that data is required for the performance of their duties. They have the same medical confidentiality obligation as the medical advisor.
For risk assessment we may ask for a criminal record. Criminal offenses committed more than eight years ago need not be reported.
Your Rights
You can inform us if you do not wish to have your personal data processed in the context of marketing. We will then ensure that you will no longer be contacted about this. Should you wish to check if all your personal data is correct, this can also be requested. We should provide you with an overview of your data within four weeks. In both cases, you can write to the company with whom you have an agreement and your request will be processed without charge. The following links provide information about how you can do this:
